Job Description

Motive is hiring a GTM AI Engineer to join the AI Operations team and build internal AI tools that the GTM organization can use every day. This role owns the path from early prototyping through production scaling, including beta testing, ongoing maintenance, and documentation and training. You will also help shape how and when agentic workflows should be used, balancing user experience, performance, and cost.

What you’ll build and own

  • Take responsibility for the full development lifecycle: prototyping and proof of concept development, scaling prototypes for production use, running beta testing with end users, and maintaining internal AI tools over time
  • Build complex agents using Glean and N8N, and use AI enhanced IDE tooling such as Cursor to deliver a range of agents, workflows, and full stack applications
  • Evaluate the solutions you build by testing internal tools head-to-head with external vendors to determine solution efficacy
  • Collaborate with internal product managers and Enterprise Systems teams to integrate key data sources into applications and agents in a secure way that respects and adds to Motive’s data governance structure
  • Apply UX best practices so agents and applications meet users where they already work and remain usable by a less technical business audience
  • Maintain strong technical decision-making on workflow design, including when to use an agentic approach versus business logic focused solutions
  • Choose the most appropriate internal development tool for each specific use case
  • Manage a provided production cost envelope by testing different LLM models to balance performance with token consumption cost
  • Create and maintain documentation for launched solutions and train end-users on how to use the tools
  • Stay current on the latest advancements in LLMs and agentic orchestration

Required skills

  • Strong understanding of AI fundamentals, including context windows, token consumption, compute costs, chunking, and performance benchmarks
  • Knowledge of API usage, scripting, SQL/SOQL, and Python fundamentals
  • Experience with prompt engineering for complex tasks
  • Experience leveraging foundational models (such as Gemini, GPT, Claude) via web interfaces and APIs
  • Familiarity with the evolving agentic landscape, including orchestration layers and MCP
  • Experimentation mindset, with comfort trying new ideas, learning from failures, and prototyping and testing quickly
