Industrial Controls Engineer

ReConserve of Minnesota is hiring an Industrial Controls Engineer to support automated manufacturing plants and customer site equipment across electrical controls, programming, commissioning, and remote monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain electrical controls systems for manufacturing plant operations and customer site equipment, independently or as part of a team
• Lead project design, installation, commissioning, closure, and inspection/reporting activities
• Read and interpret technical documentation including P&IDs, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals
• Program and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems with proficiency in Allen-Bradley and Idec platforms
• Develop data integration scripts using VB.Net and Python to transfer data from PLCs into SQL databases
• Support remote monitoring and connectivity for customer-deployed equipment, including network and communications troubleshooting
• Test, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems with minimal assistance
• Drive projects with urgency and cost-effectiveness from scope development through completion
• Maintain safety, compliance, and quality standards on all assigned work
• Contribute to project scope and budget development
• Provide project-level consulting and service to internal plant teams and external customers
• Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement at company and customer facilities
• Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness in all work and communications
• Take ownership of responsibilities with a constructive, solution-oriented approach
• Communicate professionally and collaboratively, maintaining a positive and composed approach under pressure
• Safely access multi-level industrial equipment, including climbing stairs/ladders and working at heights

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of electrical controls-related experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Fluent verbal and written English

Position Overview

• ReConServe operates 20 automated manufacturing plants nationwide producing an animal feed ingredient from off-spec bakery and snack product
• Maintains company-owned bulk material collection equipment at approximately 800 bakery and snack food manufacturing sites across the country
• Provides electrical and controls engineering support across both environments: project design, installation, and troubleshooting at manufacturing plants, plus field and remote support for customer-site equipment
• Enables real-time visibility into equipment performance and fill levels to support pickup and logistics planning

Reports To

• Engineering Manager

Team

• Works with a team of three engineers supporting the company’s full control systems scope

Travel and Work Location

• Onsite in Rosemount, MN
• Site travel required (approximately 30%), including overnight stays
• In person work location

Compensation

• USD 100,000 - 120,000 per year
