About the role

CGI Federal is seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer within its Intel sector. The position focuses on advancing national security missions through advanced technology, collaborating with a cross-functional team to deliver state-of-the-art security capabilities. The ISSE designs, implements, and manages security solutions for information systems while aligning with security standards and risk management practices. The role is located in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security architectures for information systems, covering hardware, software, and network components
• Identify and assess security risks, develop mitigation strategies, and apply security controls to address vulnerabilities
• Ensure systems comply with security policies, regulations, and standards such as NIST, RMF, and ICD 503
• Perform vulnerability scans, analyze results, and recommend remediation actions
• Create and maintain security documentation, including system security plans, security assessment reports, and risk management plans
• Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to integrate security into the system development lifecycle
• Participate in continuous monitoring activities to sustain security posture and compliance
• Engage in incident response activities, including investigating security incidents, analyzing malware, and conducting forensic analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree and/or 5 to 8 years of experience
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Strong knowledge of security principles, technologies, and best practices
• Experience with the Risk Management Framework and its application to information systems
• Understanding of secure system design principles and experience developing secure architectures
• Knowledge of various security controls and their implementation
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and techniques
• Ability to create and maintain security documentation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex security challenges
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CAP, or equivalent
