Injection Molding Process Engineer / Technician (1 year experience preferred)
Job Description
Midwest Molding, Inc. in Plain City, Ohio is seeking an Injection Molding Process Engineer/Technician to own and optimize all-electric injection molding processes. The role focuses on leading trials, applying scientific molding principles, and mentoring operators, with a preference for candidates who bring about one year of plastics molding experience. This position blends hands-on process control with data-driven improvement in a modern manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and own robust injection molding processes using scientific molding principles
- Hands-on setup, processing, troubleshooting, and optimization on all-electric machines (Toshiba/Shibaura and Milacron)
- Maintain detailed process documentation, setup sheets, notes, and standard work for all assigned processes
- Lead customer trials, first-article samples, and process validations
- Use real-time data from networked machines and ERP system to drive improvements in cycle time, scrap reduction, and quality
- Troubleshoot process, material, tooling, and equipment issues
- Train and mentor process technicians and operators
- Support continuous improvement and new product introductions
