Java Integration Engineer II
Job Description
Mutual of Omaha is seeking a remote Java Integration Engineer II to help modernize its Insurance and Annuity administration platforms. The role centers on building cloud-based integrations using AWS, MuleSoft, Spring Boot, Java, and TypeScript to enable scalable digital capabilities across the organization. This position offers a remote work setup with a focus on collaborative problem solving and hands-on delivery.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, maintain, and integrate systems to support essential business capabilities.
- Engage in ideation sessions to craft innovative digital solutions and deliver applications, APIs, and services aligned with the target architecture.
- Assume multiple roles as needed, including individual contributor, team lead, mentor, or teacher.
- Develop an understanding of the supported business units and the related objectives and challenges.
Requirements
- Experience with AWS, Java, Spring / Spring Boot, and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with System and Process APIs and microservices.
- Ability to develop unit tests using JUnit or Spock and to use version control.
- Collaborative approach and willingness to work with diverse teammates.
- Motivation to learn new technologies through research and exploration.
- Commitment to valuing different ideas and opinions, listening with courage, and staying curious.
- Remote work capability with access to high-speed internet, located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

What You’ll Bring
