Job Description

Entry level RF electrical engineer supporting FAA Spectrum Engineering Services Group within Leidos NISC IV program, handling frequency assignments and RF analyses across radar, air-to-ground, Land Mobile, microwave, and satellite systems while ensuring compliance with FAA Orders and NTIA Redbook.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing FAA and non-FAA frequency assignment actions, ensuring analyses and documentation conform to FAA Orders, the NTIA Redbook, and established engineering standards.
  • Conduct RF compatibility studies using FAA spectrum-automation and modeling tools to identify and mitigate interference among communications, navigation, and surveillance assets.
  • Perform RF propagation, link-budget, EMC, and interference analyses with FAA spectrum-automation and modeling software.
  • Verify technical data such as location, equipment, parameters, emission designator, power, bandwidth, and antenna characteristics for completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with federal and contractor engineers, Service Area Spectrum Offices, and FAA program offices to resolve technical issues and advance records through the assignment and coordination workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, or completion of a formal spectrum management course, or equivalent military spectrum management experience.
  • Less than two years of relevant RF engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to learn FAA-specific software and systems.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • Eligible for a Secret or higher security clearance, or able to meet the requirements for one.
