Machine Learning Engineer
Job Description
Allocate offers a fully remote, senior machine learning engineering role with a competitive base salary and a strong benefits package. The position supports building, training, and deploying production ML models, establishing evaluation and monitoring loops, and collaborating across teams to ship ML powered capabilities. The base salary ranges from $165,000 to $185,000, with actual compensation determined by location and other factors; higher offers may be considered in higher cost markets such as the San Francisco Bay Area. This is a full-time role with medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off. Fully remote work is available to all eligible candidates, with travel for team offsites and occasional in-person interview steps as part of the process.
Responsibilities
- Build, train, and improve production-grade machine learning models.
- Develop evaluation and feedback loops that drive measurable performance improvements over time.
- Stand up tooling to measure, monitor, and track model quality.
- Evaluate new models and techniques and bring the best options into production.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ship ML powered capabilities.
Requirements
- 4+ years of applied ML or LLM engineering in production, with strong Python proficiency.
- Experience taking models from prototype to reliable production systems.
- Hands-on model fine-tuning and a rigorous evaluation discipline.
- Proficiency with Git and version control systems.
- Hands-on experience with AI assisted development tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI's Codex, or Cursor, and the ability to incorporate new tools as they emerge.
