Machine Learning Engineer

Machine Learning Engineer role for Booz Allen’s defense technology team building and operationalizing data-driven AI solutions in support of mission outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Train, test, deploy, and maintain machine learning models that learn from data
• Implement AI capabilities that support faster mission success
• Partner with data engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, and product owners to deliver AI solutions across a wide range of use cases
• Advise clients on ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks
• Help define the direction of mission-critical solutions

Requirements

• Experience with AI, data science, or ML engineering, including developing and deploying models
• Experience writing production code in a common programming language, such as Python, C++, Rust, or Java
• Experience with data handling and model development
• Knowledge of Python and associated libraries, including scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and/or PyTorch
• Knowledge of deep learning, computer vision, or generative AI
• Ability to use AI productivity tools for coding, such as Cursor
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve client issues and technical problems
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have

• Experience with generative and agentic AI technologies such as LLMs, MCP, LangChain, or LangGraph

Work Model

• Onsite: work will primarily be performed full-time at a customer facility, with collaboration alongside colleagues and customers as required by the role

Compensation

• Projected compensation range: $77,600 to $176,000 (annualized USD)
