Machine Learning Engineer, Co-op
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy machine learning models and large language models.
- Build and optimize AI agents to automate tasks and support decision making.
- Improve model inference speed, storage efficiency, and real world scalability.
- Design pipelines and MLOps workflows to streamline training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Contribute to ML, LLMs, and agent evaluation and monitoring platforms.
- Experiment with new ML, LLM, and agent technologies.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an advanced degree (Master's or PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Linguistics, Engineering or a related quantitative field with a strong data focus.
- Proficient in Python; familiarity with ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- Experience with GenAI, LLMs, and agent frameworks (LangChain, AutoGen).
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to write clean, efficient, scalable code.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity and a proactive, go-getter attitude.
- Experience with cloud platforms and ML development and deployment tools.
- Nice to have: familiarity with NodeJS or Java.
- Nice to have: familiarity with LLM fine-tuning, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), vector databases (FAISS, Pinecone, OpenSearch), LLM optimization, VLLM library, HuggingFace library or reinforcement learning techniques.
