Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer – Automation and Digital at Rolls-Royce focuses on identifying capability needs, defining how controls and information flow for new or upgraded equipment, and delivering automation projects. The role also involves implementing manufacturing systems to enhance safety, quality, cost, delivery rate, and lead time.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, implement, validate, maintain, and continuously improve capability, capital equipment, and manufacturing technology to meet and sustain safety, quality, cost, delivery, and lead-time requirements.
  • Coordinate capability acquisition and product introduction activities, ensuring new capabilities and manufacturing methods for new parts and assemblies reach production readiness.
  • Collaborate with interfacing teams and local experts to ensure clear understanding of manufacturing processes and digital systems, capture lessons learned, and share best practices through Communities of Practice.
  • Plan and manage project schedules, resources, and costs, secure approvals, and communicate status to stakeholders while addressing issues and risks to meet milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable company policies and standards, including RRMS, Export Control, IP, and Health, Safety & Environmental standards, aligning with Zero Harm objectives.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering Commodity Leaders and Process Owners to drive processes toward consistent best practices, maintaining productive relationships with AxRCs, partners, and suppliers to enable objective delivery.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering with 4+ years of engineering experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of engineering experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering, or JD/PhD in Science, Technology or Engineering, or 6+ years of engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required to be considered.
