Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
Join the Engineering department in Bell Gardens, CA as a Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineer supporting mechanical and electro-mechanical system development across design, integration, testing, and production facility work.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, integration, and testing of structural and electro-mechanical components, systems, subsystems, and mechanical interfaces across multiple projects
- Perform project-specific design activities such as system integration and verification/testing
- Assist technical personnel and project leads with the planning, oversight, and execution of complex and advanced system and technical product development projects
- Support multiple project activities and may support multiple programs within the organization
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to lower-level technical staff
- Apply advanced engineering concepts, techniques, and procedures to support teams in the selection and setup of technical equipment
- Conduct complex engineering work spanning design, evaluation, planning, testing, and operation for program-level system development, engineering analysis, and research
- Oversee reverse engineering of complex mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to develop repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures
- Assess and evaluate requirements for complex mechanical assemblies
- Assess and evaluate mechanical environment derivation (including shock, vibration, thermal) and support environmental management and mitigation
- Prepare and review inputs to major technical deliverables, including status reports, letters, technical memoranda, contract reports, and formal briefings
- Develop production facilities or production lines by designing, installing, modifying, testing, and training equipment or facilities
- Execute change management, including product and regulatory documentation
- Conduct periodic design reviews to gather design inputs from cross-functional teams
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- BS degree in ME/EE or above (Bachelor’s required)
- 5+ years of engineering project experience
- Engineering experience in food manufacturing
