Mark VIe/VIeS Controls Engineer
Job Description
Hudson Manpower seeks a Mark VIe/VIeS Controls Engineer for onsite work in Wilmington, NC or Greenville, SC. The role targets professionals with approximately 5 to 12 years of experience, focusing on designing, implementing, and commissioning control loops, upgrading Mark V/VI/VIe software, and integrating Gamma Thermometer Data Acquisition System and HMI/SCADA components for power generation projects.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and commission new control loops in alignment with site requirements.
- Upgrade and modify Mark V, Mark VI, and Mark VIe control software.
- Develop control software in accordance with standards and contractual requirements; all software to be demonstrated and approved by the technical leader.
- Collaborate on the Gamma Thermometer Data Acquisition System and develop system requirements.
- Finalize design and prototype for the Gamma Thermometer Data Acquisition System.
- Review control philosophy, P&ID diagrams, instrument lists, and flow charts.
- Identify and report discrepancies between P&IDs, signal lists, and other inputs prior to software implementation.
- Configure data links.
- Configure and test CIMPLICITY screens.
- Conduct Software Acceptance Test (SWAT).
- Modify control software for Power Generation Steam Power applications.
- Modify HMI screens for power generation projects.
- Implement TILs.
- Review customer requirements and specifications and coordinate with stakeholders to meet or clarify specs.
- Write, test, and develop requirements for application code and failure-mode driven validation methodologies.
- Provide startup and remote commissioning support and collaborate with experts to resolve issues.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Toolbox ST and CIMPLICITY for steam turbine and plant controls.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience writing control logic using ladder logic, instruction list, block logic diagrams, and PLC/DCS engineering.
- Experience with MKVIe and ToolboxST.
- Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills.
- Experience working in global, matrixed organizations with the ability to make timely, data-driven decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and prioritize to meet business objectives.
- Self-starter capable of handling broad-based assignments.
