Job Description

Build scalable analytics foundations that help data scientists develop care gap and HCP prioritization models with efficient, standards-adherent data engineering. This remote role in New York, NY supports medical analytics development through data products and cross-team partnerships, with opportunities to modernize infrastructure and improve operational efficiency.

Salary range: USD 124,400 - 207,400 per year. Work model: New York, NY (remote). Experience: 5+ years. Education: BA/BS degree.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines, including feeding medical data sources into a data lake for ongoing projects.
  • Partner with a product manager and data lead to build technical architectures that support analytical models.
  • Identify analytics data inputs needed for use cases such as unmet need analysis (for example, claims data).
  • Gather, prepare, and maintain datasets required to perform analytics.
  • Oversee data systems in close collaboration with the data management lead, ensuring accurate collection, storage, and processing.
  • Enhance the data infrastructure for scalability and optimize data delivery, including automating manual processes to retrieve medical data.
  • Solve complex data problems to deliver insights that enable the team’s required analytics.
  • Create data products for the analytics and data scientist teams to improve productivity and collaboration.
  • Advise, consult, mentor, and coach data and analytics colleagues on data standards and practices.
  • Help foster a culture focused on sharing, re-use, design for scale stability, and operational efficiency for data and analytics solutions.
  • Lead evaluation, implementation, and deployment of emerging tools and analytical data engineering processes to improve team productivity.

What you bring

  • Demonstrated breadth of diverse leadership experience, including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, coach others, and guide colleagues to meaningful outcomes and business impact.
  • Degree in Computer Sciences, Statistics, Clinical Informatics, or similar.
  • Relevant certification and/or work experience in data engineering.
  • BA/BS degree with 6+ years of data engineering experience, notably in healthcare, or 5+ years experience with an MBA/MS.
  • Proven effectiveness in cross-functional environments and strong influencing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and credibility with Pfizer leaders and key external stakeholders.
  • Ability to partner cross culturally/regionally.
  • Effective English verbal and written communication across scientific/technical, promotional, patient/consumer, regulatory, and media contexts, with a focus on clarity and compliance.
  • In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical medicine business including clinical trial design, GCP, data interpretation, drug development, and regulatory and promotional rules/guidance, legal and compliance, issue management, and business development opportunity evaluations.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as code, data warehousing, Apache Airflow, Kafka or similar streaming data engineering tools.
  • Experience with Databricks and/or DSS Data Science Studio (Dataiku).
  • Understanding of taxonomy structures and hierarchy.
  • Experience implementing methods including Tag Management Solutions such as Tealium iQ (primarily) plus GTM, Adobe Launch, Dynamic Tag Manager, or Ensighten.
  • Ability to work with multiple tag managers and write JavaScript code.
  • Marketing performance analysis experience using data aggregation (marketing and click-stream APIs), data cleaning, and transformation.
  • Knowledge of digital analytics, especially clickstream data, Adobe and/or Google Analytics, and Drupal platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, /Omniture SiteCatalyst, Matomo/Piwik.
  • Experience with tag managers (Tealium IQ, Adobe Launch/DTM, Google Tag Manager, Piwik Pro, Signal/Bright Tag) and tag debugging tools such as Charles Proxy.
  • Programming languages: JavaScript, jQuery. Markup languages: HTML, CS.
  • 1+ years in a client-facing role for solutioning and/or evangelizing technology approaches.
