Network Engineer
Job Description
Network Engineer role in San Diego focused on maintaining and operating network, server, and storage environments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain network switches and routers, server hardware, and software patch levels
- Support SAN storage systems and backups while adhering to corporate security policies
- Maintain operations for LAN and WAN environments
- Perform ongoing performance monitoring
- Own Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and testing activities
- Maintain quality service standards defined by the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- CCNA, MCSE, or equivalent certification
- Experience managing Windows and Linux servers
- Knowledge of SAN, replication technology, and encryption technology
- Understanding of installation and configuration of virtual servers and virtual networks
- Experience managing server environments of 300+ servers (highly preferred)
- 5 years of experience in heterogeneous network environments
- Knowledge of telecommunications (preferred)
- Ability to multi-task
- Good organizational skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Onsite & Employment Details
- Location: San Diego, CA (onsite)
- Onsite requirement: Must be 100% onsite in San Diego
- Role type: Direct hire, paid hourly (due to on-call and overtime)
- Pay rate: USD 40 - 56 per hour
- Minimum experience: 5 years
