Responsibilities
- Plan and design fiber routes with pre-surveys, site walks, pole handling, and forward-looking path extensions; define access points for passings along the main route to accommodate expansion.
- Prepare project documents such as cost estimates, statements of work, purchase orders, utility locate submissions, permits, traffic control plans, staking sheets, and field folders.
- Monitor actual construction costs to maintain precise estimates and financial control.
- Collaborate with Service Delivery Coordinators or Project Managers to ensure quality and timely service delivery.
- Manage workload and priorities in the project management system, documenting design considerations, access details, status, and other relevant information; participate in internal and customer-facing coordination meetings.
- Reference project agreements as needed and coordinate with internal and external resources to resolve obstacles.
- Use CAD software to prepare documents for permitting as required.
- Assist the GIS team by reading as-builts and updating records and ITIC as needed.
- Provide on-call assistance for emergency locates to support the Engineering team on a rotating schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in communications engineering
- Telecommunications construction experience is preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD software, staking sheet creation, and Mapcom (M4) will be considered
- College degree or equivalent experience
- Must be able to work fully in office at either the Eugene or McMinnville locations
