Job Description

The PLC Programmer/Service Engineer role at YER USA focuses on commissioning, servicing, and programming end-of-line packaging machinery, with a travel-heavy schedule supporting customer sites across North America.

Onsite Location and Travel

This position is based onsite in Atlanta, GA 30332. The role requires extensive travel (~75%), primarily within the U.S., with additional travel to Canada and Mexico.

Salary

USD 100,000 - 120,000 per year.

Role Responsibilities

  • Perform power-up, I/O check-out, and commissioning and de-bugging of MSK machinery drop-shipped from Europe to customers’ plants.
  • Train customer personnel on MSK machinery operations.
  • Provide phone support for troubleshooting with MSK customers, based out of the MSK office.
  • Support product concept and film testing at the MSK facility for potential new customers.
  • Write PLC programs for machines assembled in the U.S., using standard MSK code as the basis.
  • Participate in research and development efforts for MSK machinery.
  • Travel to customer sites to support implementation of new methodologies and to assist with troubleshooting.
  • Submit a daily report to the project manager and manager using checklists, reports, photos, and videos.

Required Qualifications

  • Some college or technical school experience in a related field (for example: mechatronics, controls engineering, automation, etc.).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience programming Allen Bradley PLCs (RS Logix 5000, SLC & PLC 500) and FANUC.
  • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley electrical components and motion control (VFDs Powerflex525 / Servo Kinetix).
  • Ability to at least write and comprehend PLC ladder logic (applications require basic PLC code capability).
  • Ability to at least write a pickup and drop off standard palletizer with FANUC.
  • General working knowledge of electrical systems and schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot automated equipment by identifying issues across the PLC program and fixing the root cause.
  • Ability to use basic mechanical tools.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor, including acting as the sole MSK representative interfacing with customers while onsite.
