Job Description
Canfield Engineering & Integration LLC is hiring a Power and Control Systems Engineer for hybrid work in Chandler, AZ to support EI&C design for water/wastewater and other municipal/industrial projects.
Responsibilities
- Determine, select, and specify electrical equipment, instrumentation, and controls needed to monitor, operate, and control mechanical, process, and electrical systems
- Develop Power System Studies for project requirements
- Prepare the EI&C portion of P&IDs
- Create logic diagrams, control narratives (sequence of operations), and wiring diagrams
- Develop instrument index
- Interpret and apply codes, job procedures, standards, and project specifications
- Coordinate and interface with other engineering design disciplines
- Provide field assistance as required
- Monitor and review on-site installation, start-up, and operation of instrumentation and controls
- Perform inspections of equipment as required
- Design PLC/HMI architecture including Ethernet, ControlNet, and Remote I/O
- Develop control panel designs
- Select and specify instruments and control valves
- Complete QA/QC designs
- Stamp drawings if a P.E.
- Travel as required to support successful project execution and/or department goals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum 5 years of experience applying the NEC
- Professional Engineer License (Required)
- P.E. is highly recommended
- Ability to lead industrial facilities design and construction projects
- Ability to quickly understand network layout and I/O diagrams
- Intermediate to excellent computer skills with MS Windows XP, Outlook, Word, and Excel
- AutoCAD or Revit experience is required
- PLC and HMI programming experience is a plus
- Arc Flash study experience is a plus
- Strong communication and impromptu problem-solving skills
- Mechanical or Chemical knowledge is a plus
