Principal Machine Learning Engineer
Job Description
Connecticut (remote) Principal Machine Learning Engineer role focused on advancing AI-driven solutions. You will lead technical efforts that apply machine learning to text data classification and natural language processing, collaborating with product teams to connect model capabilities to strategic business goals. This is a remote position in the United States, with exclusions for certain states.
Compensation: USD 177,000 - 217,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead innovative projects focused on developing and implementing advanced AI-driven solutions.
- Build and evaluate diverse machine learning models, with emphasis on optimizing techniques for text data classification and NLP.
- Collaborate on AI initiatives that transform data insights and enhance domain-specific applications by integrating multiple machine learning approaches to achieve improved outcomes.
- Act as a key technical leader and provide thought leadership on best practices in the field.
- Work cross-functionally with product teams to align AI capabilities with strategic business goals.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends to improve the effectiveness of AI solutions over time.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field.
- 6 years of related technical experience.
- 3 years experience with:
- Node.js
- MongoDB
- RabbitMQ
- A caching technology such as Redis or Memcached
- Git
- Restful Web Design
- Working with times series data
- Python
- Elasticsearch
- scikit-learn
- Numpy
- Spacy
- 3 years experience applying ML techniques (SVM, logistic regression, Decision Trees, Random Forest, XGBoost, deep learning such as RNN/LSTM) on text data for domain-specific text classifications.
- 3 years experience with NLP processing in mining data, including cleaning, pre-processing, and transformation.
- 3 years experience combining multiple ML approaches like active/supervised/semi-supervised learning to achieve better results.
- 3 years experience developing tagged data sets.
