Principal Machine Learning Engineer

Atlassian is hiring a senior technical leader to help shape machine learning systems and the technical direction across multiple quarters. In this Principal Machine Learning Engineer role, you will stay grounded in architecture, experimentation, quality, and the production systems that bring models to life.

This position focuses on ambiguous, end-to-end problems, from defining an approach and aligning partners through execution and safe delivery into production. You will also collaborate across work that spans model post training and personalization or recommendation, along with proactive and other agentic experiences.

Responsibilities

• Shape systems and technical direction across multiple quarters while staying close to architecture, experimentation, quality, and production systems.
• Work across model post training, personalization and recommendation, proactive experiences, and other agentic experiences.
• Resolve ambiguous problems end to end, including defining the approach, aligning partners, driving execution, and bringing solutions safely into production.

• Seattle, WA (onsite)

• Zone A: $236,700 - $309,025
• Zone B: $213,030 - $278,123
• Zone C: $196,461 - $256,491
