Process Engineer
Job Description
Manufacturing Process Engineer focused on aerospace production in South Windsor, CT, developing process improvements and tooling support to raise quality, reduce cost, and improve throughput.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing aerospace components
- Interpret engineering drawings and create/maintain 3D models to support manufacturing planning
- Design and detail tooling and fixtures to enable efficient, repeatable, high-quality production
- Create, update, and maintain Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWIs) and supporting technical documentation
- Plan and sequence manufacturing operations with an emphasis on quality, cost, and throughput
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Design Engineering, Quality, and Production to implement process changes
- Provide technical support on the shop floor, including troubleshooting manufacturing issues
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on observed production needs
- Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles and cost-saving strategies
- Use NX CAD to develop, modify, and review models and tooling designs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing engineering role in the aerospace industry
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and 3D modeling
- Experience planning manufacturing sequences and designing fixtures and tooling
- Experience with NX CAD platforms
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
