Product Data Engineer
Job Description
Schneider Electric is seeking a Product Data Engineer to take ownership of technical product-data preparation for the NAM prefabricated engineering workflow. In this onsite role at Fairfield, OH, you will ensure part classification accuracy, reconcile data across PDM and controlled internal libraries, and deliver loader-ready product information used downstream for CAD, PBOM, MBOM, and execution.
This position focuses on establishing reliable product data handoffs and driving timely readiness for engineering and manufacturing workflows. You will also track operational health through weekly KPIs and support controlled workflow progression after independent review and release acceptance.
Responsibilities
- Acknowledge product-data handoffs and cross-reference PDM and controlled internal libraries.
- Assess whether requested parts already exist and can be reused or updated.
- Classify parts as purchased, catalog, engineered, or project-specific using approved rules.
- Prepare catalog or engineered part-record information when a suitable record does not exist.
- Complete and validate PDM loader files, including metadata, naming, and required fields.
- Maintain controlled internal product-data records and synchronize unique and common part information.
- Coordinate with TSE to create or update PDM parts.
- Coordinate with Mechanical Engineering and SMEs to support CAD and specification readiness.
- Support Project Engineers with loader-ready data and PBOM readiness.
- Route missing-field issues to the correct source owner for resolution.
- Provide weekly product-data KPIs, including queue status, aging, and blocker information.
- Support controlled workflow progression after independent review and release acceptance.
- Maintain applicable product-data procedures, work instructions, and metadata rules.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3D CAD experience, with Creo Preferred.
- PDM and PLM Management experience, with Windchill Preferred.
- Strong urge to make an impact and improve.

Salary: USD 86,400 - 129,600 per year. Minimum experience: 3 years.

- Prefab NAM can submit complete, correctly classified, reusable, and loader-ready product data with reduced rework.
- PDM requests move through the workflow with fewer missing fields, fewer duplicate records, clearer lifecycle status, and improved readiness for CAD association, PBOM development, and manufacturing handoff.
