Project Engineer
Job Description
This is a detail-oriented Project Engineer role at Thos. Moser, based onsite in Auburn, Maine.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all active booked projects from kickoff through installation and final payment settlement.
- Maintain and manage ERP data related to contract projects.
- Serve as the primary conduit between Thos. Moser teams and external supply chain resources for contract work.
- Assess vendor capabilities to determine the best fit for each project.
- Onboard and integrate new supply chain partners as needed to support project delivery.
- Plan, select, and coordinate shipping and freight for contract projects; clearly outline timing, labor needs, and space requirements to all stakeholders.
- Manage installation activities, remotely or on site as required.
- Prepare installation teams with clear assembly instructions, on-site requirements, and floor plan placements.
- Develop contract-specific product design solutions that align with Thos. Moser capabilities and supply chain constraints while meeting customer needs.
- Convey design concepts using CAD (Solid Edge), 3D rendering (KeyShot), hand sketching, and precise verbal and written descriptions.
- Collaborate with Product Design Engineer on new product design, managed in parallel with annual development activities.
- Apply technical knowledge of the furniture industry, architecture, building, and assembly/installation processes.
- Contribute to costing and pricing for in-house builds and vendor-sourced products in close partnership with the project salesperson.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in the furniture industry.
- Strong understanding of solid wood furniture construction techniques.
- Proficiency in CAD using Solid Edge and rendering with KeyShot.
- Advanced skills with the Microsoft Office suite.
- ERP and CRM experience, specifically Epicor and HubSpot.
- Willingness to travel for installations and supplier visits.
- Proven capability in project operations and execution.
