Project Engineer - Roadway Design
Job Description
The Project Engineer - Roadway Design at Neel-Schaffer, Inc. is based onsite in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, focusing on highway corridor design, roadway widening and intersection improvements for LADOTD.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize highway and roadway corridors
- Plan and implement roadway widening projects
- Develop concepts for intersection improvements
- Produce roadway plans and drawings
- Conduct InRoads Modeling analyses
- Create design templates
- Import and display alignment data
- Generate cross sections to support design decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Seven or more years of progressive transportation and roadway design experience, including schematic development and preparation of plans, specifications and estimates
- Hands-on experience with roadway plan production, InRoads Modeling, template creation, importing/displaying alignment data, and creating cross sections
- Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MicroStation V8i SS2
- Familiarity with LADOTD Standards, AASHTO Roadside Design Guide, MUTCD, ADA, PROWAG, among others
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driver's license
