Real-time Launch Operations Software and Data Engineer
Job Description
The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Real-time Launch Operations Software and Data Engineer to build real-time telemetry processing and data pipelines for rocket launch operations within the STARS framework.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement software components and data pipelines that process real-time vehicle telemetry for launch operations at the STARS facility.
- Create novel data ingestion and transformation approaches and integrate with legacy systems and cloud-native enterprise applications to support mission-critical analyses.
- Monitor performance and troubleshoot anomalies in software systems to maintain reliability and accuracy.
- Deliver high quality products and comprehensive documentation to customers on agreed timelines.
- Participate in training activities and provide mentorship to teammates.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- 2+ years of telemetry technology or engineering industry experience.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, C#, or C++.
- Experience in Windows and Linux development environments.
- Proven initiative, ability to lead complex technical projects, and strong collaboration skills.
- Experience across the software engineering lifecycle and strong problem solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to the work location or customer site, approximately 10% of the time.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
