Real-time Launch Operations Software and Data Engineer

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Real-time Launch Operations Software and Data Engineer to build real-time telemetry processing and data pipelines for rocket launch operations within the STARS framework.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software components and data pipelines that process real-time vehicle telemetry for launch operations at the STARS facility.
• Create novel data ingestion and transformation approaches and integrate with legacy systems and cloud-native enterprise applications to support mission-critical analyses.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot anomalies in software systems to maintain reliability and accuracy.
• Deliver high quality products and comprehensive documentation to customers on agreed timelines.
• Participate in training activities and provide mentorship to teammates.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• 2+ years of telemetry technology or engineering industry experience.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, C#, or C++.
• Experience in Windows and Linux development environments.
• Proven initiative, ability to lead complex technical projects, and strong collaboration skills.
• Experience across the software engineering lifecycle and strong problem solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to the work location or customer site, approximately 10% of the time.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
