Receiver, Exciter, & Processing Architecture Software Engineer II - Onsite

Raytheon is hiring a Receiver, Exciter, & Processing Architecture Software Engineer II to support its Receiver Exciter and Processing Architecture organization. In this onsite role in Marlborough, MA, you will design, architect, and implement signal processing algorithms for next-generation radar systems, bringing them to life on high-performance processing platforms.

The position focuses on building and integrating software across distributed, heterogeneous processing environments running Linux. You will work with embedded and real-time C++ code, collaborate with systems and hardware engineering partners, and help ensure the resulting algorithms meet numerical accuracy and performance targets.

What you’ll do

• Perform system integration activities on distributed heterogeneous signal processing systems running Linux.
• Code, test, and integrate C++ embedded and/or real-time signal processing algorithms or control functions.
• Resolve defects and maintain or update existing codebases.
• Analyze numerical accuracy, runtime latency, and other system metrics.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, and other software engineers to understand and implement end-user requirements.
• Support code reviews, static analysis, and continuous integration to maintain high code quality.

Required qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM major.
• C++ software development experience.
• Experience using Linux (noted as “Linus” in the source).
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with developer tools including Git, CMake, GoogleTest, gdb, profilers, Jira, Jenkins, and UML.
• Embedded software development experience.
• Experience with Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD).
• Experience with scripting using Python, shell, or bash.

Pay and location

• Salary range: USD 68,900 - 131,100 per year
