Robotics Engineer

Global KTech is seeking a Robotics Engineer to design and deliver manufacturing automation that performs in the real world. This onsite role in Michigan, ND focuses on building robotic systems that are commissioned, optimized, and supported through production launch, with hands-on work across Fanuc robotics and vision solutions.

What you’ll do

• Develop, commission, optimize, and support robotic automation systems across the full project lifecycle.
• Configure and teach Tool Center Points (TCPs), User Frames, payloads, and safety configurations, including DCS (Dual Check Safety).
• Configure robot I/O and communication networks.
• Set up, commission, and optimize vision inspection paths using robotic and third-party solutions.
• Integrate and configure robotic and non-robotic vision (robot-mounted and floor-mounted), including both 2D and 3D vision workflows.
• Develop and validate Offline Programming (OLP) solutions for robotic applications.
• Create and maintain robot simulations to support internal reviews, customer validations, and process optimization efforts.
• Analyze and improve robot cycle times to maximize system efficiency and performance.
• Validate robot models and ensure accuracy of the simulation environment.
• Lead robotics-related projects from concept through commissioning and production launch.
• Troubleshoot robotic systems and provide technical leadership during startup and production support activities.
• Mentor and support junior engineers, technicians, and project team members.
• Manage robotics-related budgets, schedules, and workload breakdown structures (WBS).

Key experience and qualifications

• Hands-on commissioning experience, including startup from a blank controller through customer acceptance.
• Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to lead robotics projects and support large-scale automation launches.
• Experience with one or more of: FANUC.
• Hands-on experience with one or more robotic applications, including: Material Handling, Spot Welding, Robot carried vision inspection 576/, Laser Welding, Adhesive Dispensing, Urethane Dispensing, Sealer Applications, Paint Applications.
• Experience with commissioning and startup, including: TCPs and User Frames, safety systems and DCS configuration, robot I/O and industrial communications, external axis integration, offline programming and simulation development.
• Experience with one or more of: FANUC RoboGuide, FANUC 2D Vision, FANUC 3D Vision / 3DV.
• Robotic and third-party vision system integration.
• Robot process optimization and cycle time reduction, plus root cause analysis and advanced troubleshooting.
• Strong project leadership and organizational skills, including the ability to mentor and develop team members.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills, including managing technical scope, schedules, and budgets.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
• An Associate Degree in an engineering discipline with equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Pay and location

• Location: In person (Michigan, ND)
• Compensation: $40.00 to $44.00 per hour
