Security Engineer - AI Trainer
Job Description
DataAnnotation is seeking a Security Engineer - AI Trainer to support the training of AI chatbots and models focused on cybersecurity. The work centers on reviewing AI-generated security content for real-world accuracy and contributing to how models reason about threats and defenses.
This is a fully remote contract opportunity based in Provo, UT, with flexible scheduling and project-based hourly compensation.
Role Overview
- Evaluate AI-generated cybersecurity content, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques.
- Help shape model outputs by providing feedback that influences the next generation of AI security models.
- Design and solve security-focused technical problems used to train AI systems.
Responsibilities
- Assess the real-world accuracy and validity of AI-produced security content, spanning threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques.
- Develop and work through security-oriented technical problems that are used to train AI systems.
- Produce clear technical explanations and security-relevant code.
- Deliver feedback that directly shapes upcoming AI security model improvements.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role, such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent fields, including government or military cyber operations.
- Some coding experience required, with comfort navigating and patching a codebase.
- Fluency in English (native or bilingual) with strong writing skills.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Cybersecurity certifications are a plus, including examples such as OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, and similar.
