Senior Automation Engineer
Job Description
E Tech Group supports end-to-end automation engineering work for customers, with a focus on delivering reliable results through strong technical expertise and clear project execution. This hybrid Senior Automation Engineer role in Nashua, NH includes hands-on system integration, from initial concepts and specifications through testing, start-up, and training.
What you’ll do
- Lead or support project teams responsible for the design, configuration, and testing of continuous and batch control applications.
- Review project scope and financials, manage time effectively, and help plan and coordinate work by developing project schedules and budgets with project leadership.
- Identify change orders, justify changes to Project Management, and help ensure delivery of all project requirements to the client’s satisfaction.
- Provide high-priority technical solutions to project leadership and/or customers, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Adapt to a flexible work schedule and travel as necessary to support design, development, and start-up activities at the client facility.
- Serve as an automation Subject Matter Expert across projects.
- Act as an ambassador for E Tech Group’s Core Values, prioritizing the success of the company, clients, and the professional development of associates.
Required experience and skills
- PLC Programming with Rockwell Studio5000 and RSLogix5000.
- 5+ years of industry experience executing automation projects for process plants, preferably in the Life Sciences domain.
- BS Engineering degree or equivalent educational background.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong technical aptitude and a desire to learn new technologies.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, including design criteria and codes relevant to Instrumentation and Controls.
- Familiarity with ISA S88 Batch and ISA S95 Controls System Architecture.
- Experience aligned with GAMP 5 and cGMP, including 21 CFR Part 11.
- Proven ability to develop process control system applications, including Siemens PLC and related tools: WinCC Unified SCADA, LAB-X, PAS-X, and Aveva PI Historian.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented software development and delivery methodologies.
- Experience designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting virtual server-based control system architectures, including understanding control system network topology such as Ethernet, Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, and DeviceNet.
- Knowledge of process instrumentation specification, installation, troubleshooting, and control panel design, including check-out, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on ability to rapidly troubleshoot and resolve equipment and instrument issues during start-up and commissioning, and to perform complex system testing.
- Experience supporting installation and commissioning work at customer sites.
