Job Description
Experis is hiring a Senior Azure Data Engineer to support a business-critical HR data integration effort, connecting SAP SuccessFactors with a modern Azure analytics environment. In this hybrid role based in Charlotte, you will design and optimize end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines that move HR and organizational data into Azure Databricks for scalable processing and transformation.
This is a contract position offering USD 55 - 65 per hour, with an initial term running through March 2027 and potential for multi-year extensions.
Role Focus
- Integrate HR and organizational datasets from SAP SuccessFactors into an Azure Databricks platform.
- Design and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines across the Azure data stack.
- Use API-based ingestion and analytics-grade transformations to support enterprise data platform initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade data pipelines within Microsoft Azure.
- Create automated ingestion workflows extracting HR and organizational, compensation, job, recruiting, and performance data from SAP SuccessFactors into Azure Databricks.
- Use SAP SuccessFactors OData APIs, Compound Employee APIs, and related integration mechanisms, orchestrated with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for scheduling and pipeline management.
- Build data processing and transformation solutions using Azure Databricks, PySpark, and advanced SQL.
- Manage datasets in Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), including data models, stored procedures, and incremental/full-load extraction strategies.
- Implement data validation, reconciliation, error-handling, and performance tuning across integration workflows.
- Collaborate with HR business analysts and technical stakeholders to translate complex data requirements into production-ready engineering solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Azure Data Engineer with ADF, Azure Databricks, ADLS, and complex SQL.
- Hands-on experience ingesting and processing SAP SuccessFactors data using OData APIs, Compound Employee APIs, or similar API-based integration patterns into Databricks/Azure architectures.
- Strong proficiency in PySpark and Python for transformation and distributed processing in Databricks.
- Background designing incremental loads, delta lake, and full-load extraction strategies that support data integrity and scalability.
- Excellent communication skills for partnering with technical architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders.
