Job Description
GE Vernova offers an onsite opportunity in Schenectady, NY with a competitive salary range of USD 113,200 to 188,800 per year. The Senior Bucket/Blade Aeromechanics Engineer will design and implement rotating and stationary bucket and blade technologies to improve steam turbine performance and efficiency. This role requires strong system-level turbomachinery safety knowledge and deep mechanical component design expertise, supported by a collaborative culture that values professional growth and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design of Steampath bucket and blade components for new units and aftermarket services, including NPI, ITR, and factory/field support.
- Advance technology from shaftline systems through subsystems, components, materials, and life-cycle considerations.
- Collaborate with a global, cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external partners (Drafting and Global Supply Chain) to foster mutual technical growth and deliver value to customers.
- Adhere to the NPI Tollgate Process from Conceptual Design through field validation for bucket/blade designs across gas power turbine configurations; lead and review engineering analyses to ensure robust designs meeting critical-to-quality requirements.
- Apply fundamentals of mechanical design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, and fatigue/creep lifing methods, with hands-on experience in Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Six or more years of engineering experience in designing turbomachinery rotating components
- Proficiency in English
