Senior Design Engineer, PE

Lead design and production engineering for inlet and exhaust systems supporting Simple Cycle and Combined-Cycle turbine configurations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical contact with clients to review applications, project specifications, and documentation
• Drive execution of the Engineering and Drafting team’s strategic plan in partnership with COF executive leadership
• Translate customer requirements to support quote development with Estimators, including customer site visits to verify details
• Create, modify, and review fabrication drawings
• Perform and/or verify design calculations
• Direct drafting personnel to complete design and fabrication drawing packages
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather technical inputs needed to complete work (Manufacturing, Purchasing, Welding Engineer, Project Management)
• Maintain file management and organization of electronic records and drawing revisions for assigned jobs
• Conduct site visits as needed
• Support customer engagement events, including presenting company capabilities
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (or related technical field) from an accredited university
• PE Licensed for OK; TX and LA preferred
• Competency in structural steel design and erection
• Knowledge of Combined Cycle Power Generation Systems required, including Filter Houses, Plenums, Ducting, and HRSG components preferred
• Familiarity with ASME VIII Div. 1 design and construction and applicable industry standards
• Tool proficiency preferred:
  • Design Software: AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar
  • Structural Software: RISA, Tekla, or similar
  • Microsoft Office Products
