Senior Design Engineer, PE
Job Description
Lead design and production engineering for inlet and exhaust systems supporting Simple Cycle and Combined-Cycle turbine configurations.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical contact with clients to review applications, project specifications, and documentation
- Drive execution of the Engineering and Drafting team’s strategic plan in partnership with COF executive leadership
- Translate customer requirements to support quote development with Estimators, including customer site visits to verify details
- Create, modify, and review fabrication drawings
- Perform and/or verify design calculations
- Direct drafting personnel to complete design and fabrication drawing packages
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather technical inputs needed to complete work (Manufacturing, Purchasing, Welding Engineer, Project Management)
- Maintain file management and organization of electronic records and drawing revisions for assigned jobs
- Conduct site visits as needed
- Support customer engagement events, including presenting company capabilities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (or related technical field) from an accredited university
- PE Licensed for OK; TX and LA preferred
- Competency in structural steel design and erection
- Knowledge of Combined Cycle Power Generation Systems required, including Filter Houses, Plenums, Ducting, and HRSG components preferred
- Familiarity with ASME VIII Div. 1 design and construction and applicable industry standards
- Tool proficiency preferred:
- Design Software: AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar
- Structural Software: RISA, Tekla, or similar
- Microsoft Office Products
