Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Actalent is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support early-stage product design efforts for startups that are not yet fully mature or in production. This contract role is based fully onsite in Grantsville, UT, and blends hands-on electrical design work with customer-facing technical guidance. You will also play a leadership role by mentoring newer engineers and driving improvements that make designs easier to manufacture.

Role overview

In this position, you will contribute to product development by designing electrical control solutions and systems controls, providing expert feedback to improve manufacturability, and supporting clients with design expertise they can take forward. The work includes leading and mentoring within the team, as well as helping move sourced components into the manufacturing process for a specific client.

Responsibilities

• Design control panels, PLCs, and large systems controls.
• Provide expert feedback on design improvements for manufacturability.
• Lead and mentor newer engineers within the team.
• Support startups in improving the design of their products.
• Engage with clients to provide customer-facing expertise.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in hardware design and electrical engineering.
• Proficiency in PLC design and large form factor products.
• Experience with HVAC thermal and liquid cooling systems.
• Knowledge of control and power distribution systems with a PLC-oriented focus.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
• Strong customer communication skills.
• Experience with fluid systems and thermal engineering.

Compensation and workplace

• Contract position based out of Grantsville, UT.
• Fully onsite workplace type in Grantsville, UT.
• Pay range: $52.88 - $57.69/hr.
