Senior Electrical Design Engineer-High Voltage

Dean Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to steer high-voltage power solutions from concept through to production, with a focus on advanced power electronics and customized customer applications. This onsite role in Coram, NY places you within a collaborative engineering environment where reliability, performance, and manufacturability are built into every design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of high-voltage power supplies and related electronic subsystems.
• Assess customer requirements and convert them into clear specifications and viable designs.
• Develop analog and digital control circuits for power electronics applications.
• Optimize DC‑DC converters, switching regulators, and feedback compensation networks.
• Engineer transformers, magnetics, and voltage multiplier configurations and evaluate their performance.
• Conduct prototype builds, bench testing, and design validation activities.
• Revise schematics and support PCB layout to ensure strong electrical performance and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver cost-effective product designs.
• Manage engineering projects and provide technical updates to management and customers.
• Support qualification testing, reliability testing, and extended life testing programs.
• Assist manufacturing engineering with design transfer and production documentation.
• Coordinate with technicians, vendors, and external consultants as needed.
• Provide technical guidance to internal teams including manufacturing, quality, and sales.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in electronic design.
• Strong experience in switching power supply design or DC‑DC converter design.
• Experience with feedback control loop compensation.
• Robust troubleshooting and circuit analysis capabilities.
• Experience working with prototypes, testing, and design validation.
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills.

Compensation

• Salary: $59,000 – $85,000 per year, based on experience.
