Senior Security Engineer - Platform Trust & Safety

Improve user safety and strengthen platform trust as a Senior Security Engineer in Datadog’s Platform Trust & Safety team. This hybrid role in New York, NY focuses on building security features that scale, measuring how users engage with security controls, and contributing to threat detection, response, and incident response. You will also mentor a team of engineers and help shape the technical roadmap in partnership with product and engineering.

What you will be doing

• Deliver security work with a direct impact on customers’ trust in the platform.
• Drive the technical roadmap in collaboration with your team, product management, and other engineering groups to align with company-wide security objectives.
• Mentor and lead a team of 3+ software and security engineers, with an emphasis on engineering quality, resiliency, and delivery.
• Build user-friendly UI components that help users strengthen the security of their accounts.
• Create metrics and measurements to understand how users interact with security features and controls.
• Work across the stack, implementing both front-end and back-end capabilities.
• Develop risk scoring algorithms to classify potentially risky behavior or activity.
• Collaborate broadly across engineering, including efforts beyond security.
• Contribute to security operations with threat detection and response, and participate in incident response.

What you will bring

• 5+ years of software security engineering experience, especially on teams building platform and user security features.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work through complex technical problems with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience partnering with product and design teams to deliver front-end features.
• Fluency in one or more modern programming languages, including Python, Go, TypeScript (or similar).
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
• Knowledge of abuse techniques in modern SaaS applications.

Compensation

USD 192,000 - 240,000 per year.
