Job Description

Join Akamai’s Custom Government Engineering Team in the United States (onsite) to build and evolve secure, resilient, high-performance software delivery capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage CI/CD pipelines, enhance software tools, and develop testing frameworks aligned to quality release standards
  • Lead technical initiatives with ownership of the design, deployment, and ongoing evolution of custom government network platforms
  • Design and develop next-generation capabilities for custom platform services in a collaborative environment
  • Direct code reviews, apply security patches, and identify improvements for software delivery and system performance
  • Coordinate cross-functional SDLC release cycles using modern Agile practices and AI-assisted workflows
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and SRE teams to investigate, troubleshoot, deploy, operate, and continuously improve solutions

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or its equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of Linux or Unix administration, configuration, system-level software development, and debugging tools
  • Proficiency in Linux shell scripting and interpretive languages including Python or Perl
  • Experience managing CI/CD automation pipelines using Jenkins or comparable continuous integration tooling
  • Hands-on familiarity with Docker, NoSQL databases, cloud storage, and networking protocols
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), systems security, and security patching
  • US Citizenship with eligibility to undergo the required security clearance process (active clearance not required)

Compensation

  • US-based candidates: $121,400 - $218,600 per year (base salary)
  • Salary determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location
  • Candidates outside the US: compensation varies
  • Compensation package may include incentive compensation (annual bonus or incentives), equity awards, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
