Senior Software Engineer

Join Optum’s AI/ML enterprise team building and supporting United AI Studio (UAIS). This Senior Software Engineer role combines meaningful product collaboration with practical autonomy, including hybrid work in Eden Prairie, MN and remote options across the U.S. You will help improve development workflows through AI-assisted tools while contributing to web applications used by real teams.

Location: Eden Prairie, MN (hybrid). Remote work: Work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. (with the note that for hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week). All remote employees must adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain web applications for United AI Studio (UAIS).
• Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver platform enhancements and production support, including defect remediation and modernization initiatives.
• Use AI-assisted tools to enhance software development, testing, code review, and documentation workflows.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience building modern web applications with TypeScript, React, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and Git.
• Strong understanding of responsive and accessible UI development, testing practices, CI/CD, and Agile delivery.

Preferred

• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools.

Compensation

Salary: USD 91,700 - 163,700 per year.
