Senior Software Engineer - AI Trainer
Job Description
AfterQuery Experts is a research lab focused on pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence through novel datasets and experimentation. In this fully remote, asynchronous role, you will help frontier AI labs by designing and assessing backend-focused tasks that train models to produce reliable, auditable software reasoning.
As a Senior Software Engineer - AI Trainer in Johns Creek, GA (remote), you will work on realistic backend service scenarios, evaluate model outputs for correctness and deeper reasoning quality, and provide clear documentation so other engineers can review the judgement.
What you will do
- Design challenging, realistic backend services, data modeling, and API design tasks based on production practice
- Evaluate model responses for correctness, sound reasoning, and subtle failure modes
- Document your reasoning clearly so another engineer can audit the judgement
What you bring
- Senior-level professional experience building backend services in production
- Strong SQL and schema design skills, along with caching and queueing patterns
- A track record of owning service reliability and performance
Compensation and work setup
- Rate: USD 120 to 140 per hour
- Payment: paid weekly
- Location: Johns Creek, GA (remote)
- Schedule: fully remote and asynchronous, on your own schedule
