Job Description

DS2 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Mission Planning Department onsite in Niceville, FL. This role offers a competitive annual salary range of USD 120,000 to 150,000, comprehensive health benefits, and a collaborative environment that values engineering excellence and practical impact. You will design, develop, deploy, and demonstrate feature-rich mission planning applications and R&D projects, helping shape the Next-Generation Open Mission Planning System for the DoW. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, deployment, and demonstration of advanced mission planning applications and R&D initiatives.
  • Contribute to the Next-Generation Open Mission Planning System for the DoW.
  • Articulate the long-term project vision and translate it into actionable features and feasible software designs.
  • Develop the architectural runway required for large, scalable solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and programming tools to keep the team well equipped.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field plus 15 years of experience.
  • Proven background in developing mission planning applications for the DoW.
  • Active programming experience in one or more of these languages: C#, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Experience with web frameworks such as React, Node.js, Vue.js, Next.js, ASP.NET, or Angular.
  • Strong fundamentals in software design and development and the ability to coordinate a team’s workflow.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, engaging with teammates to plan projects, resolve issues, and present solutions to clients.
  • Effective time management and prioritization to ensure on-time project delivery.
  • U.S. Citizen and able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
