Senior Software Engineer

Pantherx Specialty LLC is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to expand and improve a suite of applications supporting the organization’s systems. In this hybrid role based in Pittsburgh, PA, you will lead analysis, development, testing, debugging, documentation, and installation activities for new or modified portions of software systems while holding quality measures to established standards.

Working with the team and reporting to the Manager, Software Development, you will independently deliver complete coding work, build projects and tasks, and contribute through code review, mentorship, and collaborative problem solving across the software lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Integrate complex software modules to support application growth.
• Simultaneously address multiple issues and drive them toward resolution.
• Coordinate, delegate, and mentor less experienced staff during issue resolution.
• Modify and enhance existing web and Windows applications.
• Create detail-oriented documentation outlining new and moderately complex processes, ensuring documentation quality and validity.
• Validate and review secure processes and protocols, ensuring junior-level staff follow required procedures.
• Develop, validate, and implement software solutions based on customer requirements, enterprise architecture standards, and defined project designs.
• Conduct effective code reviews of others.
• Apply knowledge of multiple SDLC approaches to deliver work with consistent execution.
• Maintain awareness of user experience standards and troubleshoot issues as they arise, with clear, effective written and oral communication.
• Complete projects, tasks, and initiatives through collaboration, providing feedback as appropriate to support individual and group success.

Requirements

• Minimum five years of related work experience in SQL, TSQL, MS .NET, and Azure.
• Experience with at least one: ASP.NET MVC or Web API, WinForms, HTML 5.0, CSS, and a modern JavaScript framework such as Angular or React.
• Data access experience including Microsoft Entity Framework, ADO.NET, and/or other ORM frameworks.
• Relational database experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, including solid SQL understanding.
• Ability to work in complex development environments by turning abstract concepts into detailed software deliverables, including experience developing cross-functional systems.
• Mastery of the SDLC, self-motivation to meet or exceed expectations, and capability to design and develop complex solutions that meet requirements and timelines while working independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
