Job Description

NVIDIA is building and evolving SONiC, the open source network operating system used across NVIDIA Networking products. In this onsite role in Redmond, WA, you will contribute design and integration work that ships as part of the SONiC release train, helping deliver new networking features and chassis management capabilities in a continuous deployment environment.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the SONiC open source NOS team, your focus will include developing and publishing high-quality code in industry-leading open source workflows, working closely with experienced teams inside and outside of NVIDIA Networking and the broader SONiC community.

What you’ll do

  • Design, integrate, and deliver new feature work as part of the SONiC release train on top of NVIDIA Networking products.
  • Build and iterate in a Continuous Deployment environment, supporting fast development and deployment cycles.
  • Collaborate with experienced teams in and outside NVIDIA Networking, including work within the SONiC community.
  • Develop high-quality open source code that is published and reviewed in leading open source environments.

Minimum qualifications

  • B.Sc degree in Computer Science or related fields (including studied EE), or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of development experience.
  • Knowledge of Networking protocols.
  • Proven experience with AI tools for development or developing agents.
  • Experience with C++ and Python.
  • Ability to learn quickly and demonstrate strong technical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a teammate.

Compensation and eligibility

  • Salary range: USD 152,000 - 287,500 per year.

How to stand out

  • Experience with Networking protocols, including L2 and L3.
  • Experience with SONiC/SAI or other open source based projects.
  • Background in Linux programming and Linux shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with Scrum methodology.
