Senior Systems Engineer - Ongoing Career Opportunity

The ongoing search seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and integration of systems and subsystems for Leonardo DRS. The role provides opportunities for leadership and direct interaction with customers and is based onsite in Beavercreek, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, and implement new or existing systems and subsystems.
• May include architectural design, requirements engineering, and related activities.
• Define system specifications.
• Support the procurement of hardware, software, or subcontractor services as needed.
• Lead a team of engineers on technical activities.
• Ensure activities are completed on time and within budget.
• Design, develop, analyze, document, and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems.
• Utilize computer aided engineering or other design and analysis tools as appropriate.
• Review customer specifications and requirements and, under direction, develop designs that best support them, with cost treated as a key design variable.
• Provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments.
• Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services.
• Drive the program design to cost and meet design for manufacture requirements.
• Develop prototypes to mitigate key development risks.
• Communicate clearly, in writing and verbally, with other company personnel and customers as required.
• Participate in the preparation of proposals.
• Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel.
• Lead and direct the work of others as assigned.
• Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
• Attend appropriate engineering, customer, or business meetings.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of five years of experience.
• Fluency in the technologies and application domain relevant to the role.
• Ability to lead a technical group independently.
