Technical Product Owner (Product Manager I) within Delta Dental's Platform Engineering organization translates business needs into actionable work for delivery teams, focusing on platform services, APIs, cloud platforms, and developer enablement to drive measurable business value.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end delivery of assigned product features and technology outcomes, from planning through implementation, covering platform services, APIs, cloud platforms, developer enablement solutions, and shared engineering capabilities.
- Manage daily requirements, backlog items, projects, and special features in collaboration with Product Management and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Application Development, Platform Engineering, Security, Technology, Finance, Legal, and business teams to define and deliver solutions.
- Apply knowledge of application integration, platform capabilities, and technical development to shape requirements, priorities, and delivery decisions.
- Translate customer needs, business goals, technical inputs, analytics, and market insights into clear product requirements and executable roadmaps.
- Lead feature and dependency prioritization, PI planning, sprint planning, and backlog refinement at the team level.
- Set iteration goals and verify outcomes meet functional, non-functional, and technical expectations.
- Coordinate daily stand-ups, sprint ceremonies, retrospectives, and system demos with delivery teams.
- Create, refine, and prioritize user stories and tasks that align with user needs, technical integrity, and the definition of ready.
- Ensure product artifacts are complete and stories/features meet the definition of done.
- Identify dependencies, risks, and delivery blockers, and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
- Use product and delivery metrics to measure success, inform decisions, and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in product management supporting software engineering, platform engineering, cloud platform, API, developer platform, infrastructure, or enterprise technology products.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven track record of successful product launches and driving business growth.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Experience with agile methodologies and a deep understanding of software development lifecycles.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management tools and techniques, with a focus on efficient resource allocation.
- Strong business acumen and a customer-centric mindset, with an eye for market trends and user needs.
- Willingness to stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Base Pay Information
The national base pay range represents a good-faith estimate for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on KSAs, related experience, education, certifications, and ability to meet minimum qualifications. Other factors include local prevailing wages and internal equity. Pay Grade 21: USD 81,265.00 - 176,073. Nationally, actual pay may vary.
