Software Engineer
Job Description
Starfish Space Inc. is building autonomous capabilities for its Otter satellite servicing vehicle, and is looking for a software engineer to help develop and validate the software that powers an autonomous space environment. This onsite role in Tukwila, WA supports simulation-driven development, cloud-based workflows, and integration work with satellite compute hardware.
Compensation: $100,000 - $180,000 per year
Responsibilities
- Develop space environment simulation software and infrastructure to support refinement of autonomous software
- Build and maintain cloud infrastructure used for simulation and related workflows
- Automate simulation analysis to improve iteration speed and results review
- Support integrations with satellite compute hardware as systems develop
Requirements
- US person requirement: must be a US citizen or permanent resident
- Willing to work onsite from Tukwila, Washington
- Education or experience in software development
- Capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment
Desired Experience
- B.S. degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a similar field
- Working knowledge of Python and C++
- Previous experience with numerical simulations

ITAR Requirements
This role requires conformance with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
