Job Description

Software Engineer II within JPMorganChase's Corporate Cloud Foundational Services focuses on designing, developing, and troubleshooting secure, scalable cloud platform components in an agile team.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers standard software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting across the software lifecycle
  • Produces secure, high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code authored by teammates
  • Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with attention to upstream and downstream system interactions and technical implications
  • Utilizes SDLC toolchain knowledge to boost automation value
  • Applies structured technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and resolve basic complexity issues
  • Gathers, analyzes, and interprets large, diverse data sets to identify problems and inform decisions supporting secure, stable application development
  • Learns and applies processes, methodologies, and skills for secure, stable code and systems development
  • Contributes to a team culture of opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts plus at least 2 years of applied experience
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability
  • Practical experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern languages such as Java, Python, Terraform, and database querying languages
  • Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle
  • Exposure to agile methodologies including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
  • Growing knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (for example cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile)
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently
  • Experience with cloud technologies, particularly public cloud environments and AWS
