Software Engineer II Python/Observation

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer II, you will execute standard software solutions across design, development, and technical troubleshooting. You will write secure, high-quality code using at least one programming language with limited guidance, while leveraging enterprise-authorized AI coding assistance tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity. You will also validate work through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver standard software solution design, development, and technical troubleshooting activities
• Produce secure, high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
• Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools for code generation and refactoring, unit test creation, and documentation, validating outputs via peer review, automated testing, and secure coding practices
• Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot while accounting for upstream and downstream system impacts and technical implications
• Apply Software Development Life Cycle toolchain knowledge, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase value delivered through automation
• Perform technical troubleshooting to resolve basic complexity technical issues by breaking down solutions
• Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large and diverse data sets to support secure, stable application development and decision-making
• Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills to support secure and stable code and systems

Required Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in Python within a large corporate environment, including one or more modern programming languages and database query languages
• Experience with observability, including white-box and black-box monitoring, service level objective (SLO) alerting, and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, and others
• Strong understanding of SLI, SLO, SLA, and Error Budgets
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and alignment with resiliency and security expectations
• Experience across the complete Software Development Life Cycle
• Exposure to agile practices such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

Compensation: USD 123,500 - 150,000 per year
