Job Description
Benefits and culture
Deloitte offers a core talent model benefits package, a competitive salary range of $122,000 to $240,500 per year, and the potential for a discretionary annual incentive program. This onsite role in Cincinnati, Ohio, places you in a collaborative environment where mentoring, cross-functional teamwork, and delivering enterprise scale cloud native software and agentic AI solutions are everyday priorities. You will work alongside Product, Design, DevOps, and QA teams to create impactful technology while growing your skills through continuous learning and hands-on leadership.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and implement scalable full‑stack software systems and services that are reliable and maintainable.
- Design and operationalize RESTful and asynchronous APIs on cloud‑native infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with containerized workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure‑as‑code.
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex features from requirements gathering through deployment and monitoring.
- Architect and deliver production‑grade agentic AI and multi‑agent applications using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or Semantic Kernel; apply patterns like orchestrator‑agent hierarchies, RAG pipelines, tool‑calling agents, and context/memory management.
- Perform thorough code reviews, enforce coding standards, and advocate engineering best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid‑level engineers, supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, DevOps, and QA to ensure high‑quality software delivery.
- Identify technical debt and drive refactoring and improvement initiatives proactively.
- Participate in system design discussions, architecture reviews, and technical planning sessions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance, scalability, and reliability challenges in production systems.
- Contribute to hiring processes through technical interviews and assessments.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated backend and cloud development expertise.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in Store and Associate Technology (SAT).
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring‑based application development.
- Experience with microservices, APIs, messaging, and event‑driven architectures.
- Working knowledge of AWS and/or GCP cloud services.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling.
- Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL data stores.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills; able to work autonomously and as a technical lead.
- Proven track record managing or technically leading delivery teams, with effective coordination across time zones.
- Experience delivering software across multiple SDLC methodologies (Agile, SAFe, Kanban, waterfall‑agile hybrid).
- Ability to travel up to 50% based on client needs; limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
- Experience with event‑driven architectures and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
- Contributions to open‑source projects or a demonstrated personal portfolio.
- Experience with observability, security, and code quality tools; familiarity with security best practices.
- Experience delivering solutions that incorporate Large Language Models or agentic AI architectures in a professional setting.
- Prior tech lead or staff engineer capacity preferred; industry‑recognized technology certifications are a plus.
