Sr AWS Application Security Engineer, ADC AppSec

Senior AWS Application Security Engineer based onsite in Arlington, VA, responsible for analyzing application security, threat modeling AWS services, building security automation, and guiding internal teams within AWS IT Security.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive application security reviews across AWS workloads
• Perform in depth threat modeling of AWS services to identify attack surfaces
• Drive continuous improvement through security research and automation initiatives
• Deliver security training and outreach to internal development teams
• Create and maintain security guidance documentation for engineers
• Develop security tooling and automation to enhance security operations
• Measure, report, and enhance security metrics and program effectiveness
• Support recruiting efforts and assist with related administrative tasks

Requirements

• 4+ years of non internship experience troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks with command line tools
• Hands on, non internship experience identifying security vulnerabilities, attack patterns, and remediation techniques in industry settings
• Experience mentoring others, serving as tech lead, or leading an engineering team
• BS degree in computer science or equivalent, or 4+ years of related technical work experience
• 5+ years of combined experience in threat modeling, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration, or network security
