Sr Controls Engineer

Actus Nutrition (Milk Specialties Company) is hiring a Sr Controls Engineer to support controls planning and execution for processing plant systems. In this onsite role in Eden Prairie, MN, you will advise on plant equipment and control requirements, guide selection decisions, and coordinate external control vendors. The position also emphasizes hands-on PLC/HMI experience, including Rockwell-based automation work and control system troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on, recommend, and engage in the selection of plant equipment and related control needs, including digital and analog I/O, as well as cabinet and system design requirements.
• Oversee external control vendors to support control delivery and alignment with plant needs.

Required Qualifications

• Education: BS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related specialty technical field (or foreign equivalent).
• Experience: At least 5 years of progressive, post-bachelor’s experience in controls engineering within a processing plant.
• Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, related components, and Logix programming.
• Experience developing HMI systems using Factory Talk ME, Factory Talk View and/or Aveva InTouch, including related systems such as tag/data servers and historians.
• Experience with Rockwell and related US automation technologies.
• Demonstrated control system design and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Travel: May require travel up to 50% of the time, typically in 2 to 3 day visits to company sites across the US.
