Sr Cybersecurity Engineer (AI Security)

Moody’s Cybersecurity Engineering team is seeking a Sr Cybersecurity Engineer (AI Security) to help safeguard the organization’s AI and model ecosystems. This onsite role in Golden, CO focuses on security architecture, lifecycle controls, risk assessment, testing support, and resilient deployment and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Secure AI and model ecosystems by defining architecture, implementing controls, assessing risk, and supporting resilient deployment and operations.
• Develop and maintain Moody’s AI and model security architecture, standards, and technical roadmap.
• Implement security controls across the artificial intelligence and machine learning lifecycle.
• Evaluate AI, machine learning, and large language model solutions for risks including prompt injection, data leakage, model manipulation, adversarial inputs, insecure integrations, and unauthorized access.
• Provide hands-on support for security testing, architecture reviews, threat modelling, control implementation, and incident investigation.
• Define secure configuration requirements for cloud-hosted AI services, machine learning platforms, pipelines, application programming interfaces, and containers.
• Partner with engineering teams to embed security controls into development, development security operations, and deployment processes.
• Create monitoring approaches for model behaviour, misuse, data exposure, configuration drift, and emerging threats.
• Contribute to AI governance, risk assessments, exception management, incident response, and compliance activities.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a technical, engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, or related role.
• Demonstrated capability to design, secure, or operate cloud-based solutions, including experience with at least one major cloud platform and configuration-management capabilities.
• Working knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning concepts, model lifecycles, application programming interfaces, and large language model technologies.
• Experience conducting security architecture reviews, threat modelling, technical risk assessments, or security testing.
• Ability to convert strategic objectives and technical AI risks into implementable requirements, controls, and recommendations for stakeholders.
• Hands-on capability with relevant scripting, automation, cloud, security, or machine-learning tools, supported by strong analytical, written, verbal, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Deep expertise in artificial intelligence, including a track record of implementing advanced AI solutions, using AI tools to drive innovation initiatives, and leading AI risk management with ethical governance and responsible AI adoption.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).

Skills & Competencies

• 4+ years of experience in technical engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
• Ability to design, secure, or operate cloud-based solutions with experience in at least one major cloud platform and configuration-management capabilities.
• Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts, model lifecycles, APIs, and large language model technologies.
• Experience with security architecture reviews, threat modelling, technical risk assessments, and security testing.
• Translating strategic objectives and AI risks into practical requirements, controls, and stakeholder recommendations.
• Hands-on work with scripting, automation, cloud, security, and machine-learning tools, along with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Demonstrated AI leadership focused on managing AI-related risks, ethical governance, and responsible adoption.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).

Compensation

Salary range: USD 116,500 - 192,300 per year.
