Sr. Data Engineer, Deal Tooling and Insights, Strategic Customer Engagements

At AWS, this onsite role in New York, NY offers a collaborative culture and the chance to shape data analytics for strategic engagements. The Sr. Data Engineer position carries a salary range of USD 170,000 to 230,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package. You will partner with Product Managers, BIEs, and business partners to translate data into actionable insights that influence commercial private pricing opportunities and AI-enabled data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the backend data infrastructure for analytics platforms and applications, ensuring data is clean, fresh, and readily consumable downstream
• Drive architectural improvements to simplify complex data pipelines and address bottlenecks in data systems
• Convert business problems into technical data requirements, collaborating with BIEs, product management, and stakeholders to define data products
• Maintain data quality through monitoring, validation, auditing, and documentation of pipelines and data sources
• Leverage AWS services and GenAI to create next generation data solutions that boost efficiency and unlock new analytics capabilities
• Create data pipelines tailored for LLM usage and build data products and feature stores that serve GenAI applications with near real-time latency
• Lead design reviews for the team’s data architecture and participate in broader reviews of related software and data systems

Requirements

• 5+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
• Strong SQL skills
• Experience in at least one modern programming or scripting language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
• Experience mentoring team members on best practices
